Today is Beatrix Potter Pick of the Day

My Blog today is of two cards that I made from Beatrix Potter CD's

The first is based around a small easel card from the Jeremy Fisher CD.

I matted the easel pieces onto coordination card and then centred the base onto a 6x6 card.
and shaped the side edges to match.

The other paper was also on this CD it is a lovely damask design. I covered the top , made an extra sheet for the insert, and cut scroll embellishments with a Spellbinders die from it.
The edges I distress with Tim Holtz ink.
The gems are also from the Beatrix Potter range

My second card is from the Exclusive World of Beatrix Potter CD.

This is an accordion card which has a different picture from each angle, as the card is detailed enough I kept it simple using borders from the CD to make a frame and cut fancy borders to surround the edges.

I am however quite chuffed with my carrots made using a strip of matching paper and a quilling tool. I rolled the strip quite tightly then stuck the end down, when it was dry using progressively smaller embossing tools I pushed into the centre until I had a carrot then added a few fern type leaves for the top. I think Benjamin Bunny would approve.

At 9.0pm this evening Sara Davies will launch the latest additions to the Beatrix Potter Collection on Ideal World So sit back and watch these lovely little characters take centre stage.

Today I have been playing with Luminarte sprays and dabbers hopefully the results will be good enough to end up as samples, only time will tell.
Tomorrow I'm off to Birmingham for the NEC with Louise Welsh and Leann Chivers. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!

Saturday 17 March 2012

Hello,

Hope you are having a crafty type day.
Today I am focusing on some of the new stamps being released for the Pick of the Day on Ideal World on Tuesday at 9.0pm

In the first card I have coloured Timmy Tiptoes with Spectrum Noir pens. The embossed tag is Coordination card embossed with the Damask Darice embossing folder.
The papers are from the CD of Timmy Tiptoes.

Benjamin Bunny features on this card which I made with a distressed look.

The frame is a Spellbinders Framability.

For a change I have coloured Benjamin using Tim Holtz Distress Inks and I was really pleased with the result.

Jeremy Fisher is a very flambouyant character so back to Spectrum Noirs for this image.

The front of the wrap over card is very understated,
I actually used the page of borders as the backing paper.

The card opens to reveal Jeremy reading his newspaper
Most of the ribbons are from Ribbon packs in the Beatrix Potter range and there are lovely gems as well that I have used on several cards.

If you'd like a chance to win the CD and Stamps click HERE and start your blog hop around the design team.

If you are already on the journey scroll down for my letter and your next link.

Well that's all for today folks.
Off to tidy my craft room after all the sample making.
Have a lovely day, whatever you're doing.

Getting Crafty with Card Blanks

Hello Everyone
Today is the first day for a while that I haven't had samples to do,so it's kinda weird doing the housework (which I hate!) without rushing back to my craft room.
Being part of a design team has been really exciting and I'm looking forward to our next project, but a little break would be nice. I have family cards to do and my sister has put in her orders.

I thought you may like to see something new to add to your crafty stash.

A range of accessories which coordinate beautifully with the colour palettes of Beatrix Potter,
There are card blanks, ribbons, paper pads, rub ons and gems. All gorgeous!!!!!

Below are some cards I made using the blank cards.
We were asked to do something "crafty" with them to show they can be used in differnt ways.

My first one I added some extra characters with the rub ons, I then mounted the card front onto backing papers from the CD. Made flowers from the papers and used gems in the centres. The voile ribbon I pleated onto double sided tape.

The next card I really cut into to make a 3D picture which looks into the rabbits burrow. I used a Darice folder to emboss Centura Pearl card to form the card base and trimmed with this lovely brown gingham ribbon, a few gems complete the picture.

My final card today uses this beautiful scene which was just crying out for some Flowersoft.

The image of Jemima Puddle Duck with Mr Fox is also on Jemima's CD so I printed out some images and borders to make this card which I hope you like.

All of these accessories will be available during the Ideal World Pick of the Day on Tuesday.

That's all for today, Sorry if I've tempted you to spend more money but they are lovely.

If you are on the BLOG HOP then scroll down to find the post and your next letter.

Call back tomorrow for some new stamped images.

Luv Margaret.

Jeremy Fisher gets a starring role.

Today it is the turn of Jeremy Fisher to step into the spotlight for my Sneek Peek of the cards made using the new set of CD's from the Beatrix Potter range.
He joins Benjamin Bunny and Timmy Tiptoes  when Crafters Companion release 3 new CD and 3 sets of stamps on Tuesday at 9.0pm on Ideal World.

I have made a Turnback Gatefold card with one of the images from the decoupage section.

The panels are made using Coordinations card which I have embossed using one of the new borders from Darice, then I distressed them with a gold inkpad.

The gold paper from the CD has been sprayed with Gold Spray and Sparkle

The centre section opens to reveal the insert.

If you are doing the Crafters Companion Blog Hop carry on down to the next post where you will find my letter and link to the next Design Team member.

Thanks for calling by, I will be posting another card tomorrow.

More Poppets to tempt you.

Today my sneek peeks are of two projects which use the 3D frames which form a whole section on the CD. It was so hard to choose which one to use.

My first is an 8x8 easel card featuring a beautiful young lady riding her bicycle through a field of wild flowers

This was one of my favorite images, it is so delicate.

The CD has this gorgeous mottled paper which will be so useful for so many cards. It will make great sky and as well as coming in several colours can be colourized to your choice.
I cut the backing paper on my Cricut using the Elegant Edges cartridge.
It was the first time I had used this design, so when I saw how beautiful the cut out florish was I just had to use them as embellishments in the corner of the frame. (I backed them with some acetate to give support)

To complete the Wedgewood look I used Supersmooth White Paper to cut the borders which formed the bar to hold the easel.

The Sentiment stamp will be available in the launch as well. It's a mix and match set. Check out Crafters Companion web site where you can see all the components.

A few more florishes (Spellbinders) some ribbons, flowers and pearls and the top is complete.

You have probably realised if you have seen my previous cards that I must have a place for a proper insert, the words on my cards are very important to me so by printing the backing paper onto card you can make the extra leaf required.

There are some great inserts and verses on the CD.
Job complete.

I'm entering this card in the
 Glitter Geeks Challenge
Song Title     " I want to ride my bicycle."   by Queen

The second project uses one of the frames to make a picture frame.

There are some super ballet dancers on this CD just perfect for your little Prima Ballerina's

Isn't this paper beautiful, the lime green option is sooooo pretty.

Well that's my offerings for today, don't forget to leave a comment for your chance to win this fantastic CD curtesy of Crafters Companion.
I will announce the winner Friday.

Thank you so much for all your lovely comments, I'm glad you like my cards, I really loved working with this CD and you will too if you are lucky enough to win.

Every design team member is offering a CD so check out their blogs, and leave your comments.
Remember you've got to be in it to win it!!!!

Happy Crafting, more tomorrow.  Margaret xx

My Little Schoolboy

Day 3 of Sneek Peeks
This cute little schoolboy is one of the stamps being launched on Friday by Crafters Companion.
He comes from the Paintbox Poppet range created by Christine Haworth
He was very tidy when he left home but as you know, Boys will be Boys, still he's managed to keep his apple for the teacher safe.

The image was stamped onto Neenah card and coloured using Spectrum Noir pens.I used Coordinations card for the plain coloured mounts

The greeting was created using a new range of stamps also being launched on Friday, which I think are going to be very popular as the words are interchangeable to suit any occasion and anybody.

The backing papers and all the other embellishments are printed from the CD.
The buckle and bulldog clip I glazed with a Sakura Clear glaze pen.
The buttons are made using the Epiphany Shape studio Round 10 and cut from coordination card.

Leann Chivers recommends that you stamp your image twice so you have one to try your colours on first, well I hadn't the heart to throw mine away so I included him on the matching insert which I again printed from the CD.

I love that there are 8x8 inserts available as this is my favorite size card There are also verses to suit every occasion which can be personalised, and if you want something different then you can type your own.

Thanks for calling by, and don't forget leave a comment below for the chance to win a Fabulous CD
Random draw from all the sneek peek comments on my blog takes place Friday morning.
It could be YOU!!

If you didn't leave a comment yesterday as facebook kept deleting my posts click on Girls on the Beach on the righthand side .

Girls on the Beach

Today I went to "Crafty Towers" to deliver my samples, so it was a huge relief to know they are finished and safely delivered.

My card today features a beautiful image of two little girls on the beach.
I have made a K card using a new section on the CD called Decorations, I used two different sizes but both are decoupaged.

The Papers are all from the CD and I used Coordination paper to mount them and to cut borders.

I always want somewhere to put a proper insert so I have added an extra leaf by printing the cut out part onto card which then forms the internal page for the insert.

I used various  sections to print other images to decorate the remainder of the card.

Hope you like it.

Now here's the good bit..................Crafters Companion are allowing me to give away a copy of this fantastic CD to someone who leaves a comment on my blog.
You are allowed to leave one comment on each days blog and then on Friday a winner will be chosen at random from all the comments for the Sneek Peeks.

So feel free to leave your message and call by tomorrow with another. Oh and Good Luck  because I know you are going to love this.

Bye for now. xxx
